1. How to Sell to the Federal Government of Canada - Seminar on 3:30pm, Monday, 10 May 2010
The Office of Small and Medium Enterprises, Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has agreed to our request to organize a seminar on How to Sell to the Federal Government of Canada.

This seminar will cover the fundamentals of selling goods and services to the Government of Canada. This seminar provides information on how to market to the federal government, how the government does its buying, and how to keep track of and respond to opportunities.

An introduction to SELECT is also included.  SELECT is an online registration database for firms providing real property, construction and maintenance, architectural and engineering services and is the tool PWGSC uses to identify qualified firms and individuals for requirements up to $100,000 in value.

The seminar will be delivered by Tess Menges, Supply Officer, OSME.

FREE and exclusive for CSCE members
As we have a few more seats available, we decided to also allow non-members and request them for taking CSCE membership. Please pass the word along to your colleagues who might be interested.

Datetime: 3:30pm, Monday, 10-May-2010
Venue: Room 1902 (19th Floor), 800 Burrard Street (at intersection of Burrard & Robson), Vancouver ( View in Google Maps )

3. Operational Modal Analysis - Workshop in October 2010
CSCE Vancouver Section, in collaboration with the CSCE National and international partners, is offering a 3.5 day course on Operational Modal Analysis (OMA). This workshop was very well received in its previous offerings in various international locations.

The workshop will teach the participants the methods, techniques, and tools used to measure, analyze, and infer on ambient dynamic vibrations of structural members and assemblies in a hands-on manner with real-life applications.

The intended audience includes structural engineers in the practices of seismic, aerospace, and mechanical engineering. The half day at the end of the course (fourth day) consists of trips to field sites in the BC Lower Mainland.

A detailed explanation of the Operational Modal Analysis approach can be found in the organizing partner's website

We are presently in the planning phases - please stay tuned to the Events section of our website for further updates -
